Boys and their toys

The boys before Thanksgiving dinner went to the sand dunes to play with their big toys. They took Jon's wife, Kailey and Max. They had alot of fun but ran into a little trouble. Thank god some of their friends went out too. Max and Kailey really enjoyed it. Max wants a big truck now when he get big like the brothers.

Well it has been a while since I have had the time to sit and blog. The holiday of Thanksgiving has sneaked up on me. I found myself in a whirl of cooking My Aunt Carol and Uncle John were invited to join this wild part of the family. All the kids except Kisha and Ricky were coming home for the holiday. Maybe next year Kisha and Ricky can come. I conned My Aunt Carol into cooking a rather hugh ham, while I cooked the 25 pound turkey. I didn't have room to cook both in my oven. Safeway got to do the pie baking as I ended up working late the night before. I think it all went really well. Only one burn,and that was Aunt Carol,while she was practicing her gravy making skill. She burned her favorite finger. All the kids and adults were completely stuffed. I knew I had done my job well. It was really nice to see our family sitting around the table visiting and I realized that I'm one lucky lady to belong to this family.

Haircut day for Mr Max

Well our little ball of energy named Max was getting a little shaggy . Mom decided he needed to take a little trip to visit Russ the Barber. Usually Max's papa Ben takes him on this little adventure,but I thought I would take a challenge, and just do it. Max has it turns out loves Russ. I think it has something to do with the 2 suckers Russ gave him after the task was completed.

The cut in process takes alot of time and patience. Russ the barber has just the experience to get the job done. He can work on a moving target. I ask Russ how many heads of hair he has cut. He said he wished now he had kept track,but really didn't know. He did say that he has been cutting hair for at least 64 years. He is my hero!! No one can cut a flat top like Russ.

The cake had a little problem when it first arrived. Thankgod it was a fixable problem. Jon was really careful with the cake. He later stated he wanted to enjoy his honeymoon instead of starting off with a bad foot. He is a smart guy after all.

We had guests from many different states that traveled to our little celebration. Ricky and our daughter Kisha traveled from Minnesota.It was nice to finally meet Ricky.We really liked him. Way to go Kisha!! Jon's dad David and his wife Shanna flew in the night before from Ohio. David took the wedding pictures for Jon and Alicia. Thanks David!! Alicia's grandparents drove in from Montana. They drove home right after the wedding. It was nice to finally meet them. Lots of family and friends

All dressed up and ready to do a very important job. Max wanted to be the flower girl after he got to practice his job the night before the wedding. We had to bribe him to carry the rings to his brother Jon with a bag of M&M's. Max now says he is marrying the flower girl when he gets older and taller.

We have been very blessed to welcome my son Jonathon's new wife to the family. The big event took place on August 8,2008. The bride was breathtaking beautiful. Our families were all together to watch beginning of a new family form. Some find a wedding a very emotional event. I however find it to be a joyous happy event. I love watching my family grow.

For weeks Max spent looking at birthday cakes at his Mama Mick's. This is what they came up with. The next morning the green frosting ended up in a wonderful display of my son's artistic abilities on the living room. Darn the luck!!!

Birthday boy in the summer

Max has waited all summer for his birthday. If you ask him how old he is he will tell you he is five. I always tell him that he has to be four before he is five. He was so excited. He wanted a BBQ with hotdogs. Dog deal for me. Dad gets to cook and it was easy. He asked for a waterslide for his present. It has been well worth the money. Kailey and Max have spent many hours playing. The party was wild and exciting. Max stated,"It was the bestest birthday ever!"

The weather here has been in the 90's. While traveling home one day from Moses Lake we decided that a certain 3 year old needed to burn off some energy. I of course had my trustly little camera in hot little hand to snap some pictures. (the kids hate that). Enjoy

Not Stewie's Day.

As many of us parent know the law concerning our children's pets. We inhert them from our children. Stewie came to our home when Jon moved back home from living in Spokane. This gentle gaint of a dog has more than earned a spot in our family. Our little Max teethed on Stewies ear's and tail. Max has used him to bounce on and ride like a horse. Stewie always fetches the baseballs Max hits when he is outside using his baseball T. He does all his tricks for a milkbone and a wag of his tail. Stewie is also the protector and let me tell you no one messes with this 100 pound bad boy. He sleeps in Max's room along with Oscar every night. We like to call it the boy's slumber party .Stewie, however doesn't know that he is not a lap dog. The other day Stew was out lying under the van to escape the sun. Max and I hopped in the van to pick up Kailey at the pool and back up over this big guy. He didn't even yelp or anything. I saw him limping around the front of the van. I don't know what gave me the strength,I picked him up and put him in the back of the van. (Did I say he weigh a good 100 pounds or more.) I was able to get him out of the van,when Dereck arrived and carried him in the Vets. I was a mess and crying little did I know how much this big monster had become a part of our family. The final diagnois tire track bruises over his abdomen and torn ligaments in his right front paw. The vet just kept asking what happened to the car and this is one tough dog. That night Stewie was no questions or complaining a lap dog.

The beginning of Blogging

The Beginning of this blogging stuff. My cousin Mindy has inspired me to maybe learn to do this stuff. I really am not good at this stuff,but welling to learn. Life here at the home is as busy as ever. We are busy helping our son Jon and his bride-to-be Alicia prepare for their wedding. They ready for the big day to be over. The big issue is who will marry them. My suggestion is someone who can do it legally. All of our children have a role in the wedding. Dereck is the bestman.(who would known they would have became best friends when they grew up!) Matt a groomsman. Kisha a bride's maid. Kailey the senior flowergirl. She get to assist with the other flowergirl and the ringbear. Max, yes you guessed it is the ring bearer. The brothers have told him that he is the master of the rings, and that is one important job. We have practiced with the pillow for the past 3 months. He is excited.
We are going in search of a dress for Kailey on Friday in the good old town of Spokane. Max
got a new tux. It was cheaper to buy than rent. So if you know of anyone who will be needing a size 5 black tux. I have it. I will have to invest in some sort of a dress. I want one that makes me look thin,young and beautiful. Good luck with that order!!!!
The big event is in Bellingham Washington. They are both living in Birch Bay. That is close to that area. It is to take place at 2:00pm. The problem is that weekend there is a convention of some sort and lodging is a challenge.
